10701 Genuine Air Force Pilots Sunglasses AO

The US Armed Forces best kept secret is now available in the consumer market. Performance-tested sunglasses with classic aviator styling. The Original Pilot Sunglass has been a favorite of US military pilots for almost 50 years. Engineered to rigid military specifications and issued to millions of US soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen since 1958. The rugged and sturdy structure and high quality finishing of the steel alloy frame coupled with distortion free, toughened and polished True Color glass lens have made the AO Flight Gear Collection the standard bearer of all fine military sunglasses.

Great glasses at a great price4
These are great sunglasses. The optics are really good and the construction is solid. And you can't beat the look. Some may find them a tad on the heavy side due to the use of real glass but I like the solid feel. I was concerned that they aren't polarized but so far it hasn't been an issue. I have a smaller face and have trouble finding a good fit. The American Optical's in the 52mm are perfect for me. The case they come with is nice. Nothing fancy but it does the job. I do wish they came with a cleaning cloth but that's a minor complaint.
Good sunglasses for the price.4
The glasses arrived quickly and came nicely boxed and with a soft case. The AO Pilot sunglasses have a sturdy gold plated metal frame and excellent dark glass lenses. The downside of this is the additional weight, which you notice when wearing them for an extended period of time.

Be aware, the styling is very retro but if that's a look you like theses glasses achieve it admirably. If you want a more modern look the same model is available with a chrome frame and grey lenses. The 52mm lens size is best suited to a smaller face.

Overall they are excellent value for money.
Compares favorably with Randolph brand5
As a motorcyclist I am hard on sunglasses. I usually purchase Randolph brand sunglasses for their quality and durability. I decided to give these a try and was not disappointed. Lens color is neutral while providing very good light attenuation.

Only time will tell regarding durability and these units "seem" a bit less robust than Randolph, but only by a very small margin if at all.
